Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct applies to all members from the Guild Master down. Players must at all times adhere to the Flat Roos code of conduct. This includes when partied with players from another Guild. Any breaches of the code may lead to disciplinary action up to and including being removed from the Flat Roos.
It is the responsibility of the member to register with the Flat Roos forums. This registration must be made with the screen name of the main character in the Flat Roos (eg. “Gobbledoc” is my main character in the Flat Roos. “Gobbledoc” is my screen name for the forums)
Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
To remain a member of the Flat Roos all members must acknowledge that they have read, understand and will comply with this code of conduct. By acknowledging with you main character you also acknowledge for any “alt” character you have.
The Five Golden Rules
- Treat all players with politeness, maturity and respect.
- Abusive language isn't tolerated in any form, be it foul language, racist, sexist or otherwise derogatory. This applies to all communication means including Guild Chat, Raid Chat and Team Speak.
- No begging to be power levelled or for gold
- No ninja looting. Ninja looting is when a player in a MMORPG takes treasure that was dropped from a fallen enemy, also known as loot, without first asking the other participants of the battle for permission to do so. Grabbing small treasures dropped from easy-to-kill enemies is usually not considered ninja looting.
- As a minimum all members are to use the following mods (links in the forums):
- TeamSpeak – Minimun to listen ( you don’t need a mic for this). Officers Must have Microphones
- Group calandar,
- CTRaid Assist,
- Character Profiler
Decursive
threatmeter
Officer and Raid Leader Duties:
- Actively promote and attend Flat Roos raids and events.
- Monitor and moderate Guild and Raid Chat and Team Speak and enforce the above rules.
- Inform all officers of any warnings handed out.
- Recording breaches of the code of conduct via screen shots or other methods and if necessary sending them to the GM or posting them on the Officers Forums.
- Vetting of new members and promotion of members to raider or partying
General conduct
Members are expected to offer help to other members. This means they should be willing to put the Flat Roos first rather than their individual levelling when the Flat Roos needs help. This also means that a member should not ask for aid unless they really need it.
Immature behaviour outside of jest is look down upon but will not result in any reprimand unless it is excessive
Feel free to ask in Guild Chat for assistance keeping in mind that www.thottbot.com is a wonderful resource for questing. However continued Spamming to individuals or in Guild Chat for help will not be tolerated.
If you need help with an instance ASK AN BAR MEMBER OR RAID LEADER to schedule it on the Calender and they’ll help get ppl to attend. – Take the right initiative and the Flat Roos will help where it can. Remember that running an instance with players of a similar level to you is a far better outcome for your experience points and your development as a player.
Guild Chat
Guild chat is a communication means that is read by all members. Things you type that are intend for one person will be seen by all and can therefore cause offence to all.
- If you are the victim of abusive language or harassment, take a screenshot, talk to an officer online, of send an in-game mail, and put the person on /ignore. Responding and retaliating may get you in trouble as well.
- Spamming the guild chat with constant, random chat clogs up the chat channel and forces people to disable guild chat in instances, which is a problem. If you look through guild chat history and see that 90% of it is from you, then you've probably been spamming. If you have a lot to say, say it in larger, longer sentences. If you are rehearsing Shakespeare to someone else in the guild, send them a whisper instead.
- Don't vent your real-life frustration on guild chat. Buy a cat and talk to it, you'll get a much better response.
Participation and Attendance
Members are encouraged to be involved in Flat Roos activities. These activities are: plain old guild chat, posting in the Flat Roos forums, participating in guild raids, assisting other members and attending Flat Roos events. Flat Roos is a community, and everyone is a part of it.
Veterans, Senior Raiders and Raiders, the attendance shall be as per the raids that you have booked for and designated by the Raid leaders. You risk being returned to the rank of partying if you do not attend activities you have committed yourself to (at the Raid Leaders, Bar Members, or GM’s discretion.)
Absences
We realise that this is a GAME and players have real lives too, this means that some people will have to have guild absences .If this happens to you please make a note in the absence forum so that your rank and position will not be affected.
More that 7 days of no login without notification of absence will result in being returned to partying – when you come back please apply to be re-instated
More than 30days without notification of absence in partying runs the risk of being removed from the Flat Roos
When emergencies happen, we realise that notifying the Flat Roos may not be your number one priority. As such members removed due to not meeting the absence notification requirements will be welcome back once they return to the game.
Discipline
ANY player, regardless of rank, who is found to breach the Code of Conduct may face disciplinary action.
Minor breaches will earn a warning from an officer and be notified to all other officers that you have received a warning.
Second or more serious breaches or not heeding direction to stop your behaviour will result in time in the SINBIN.
Third Breach or a Serious Breach will result in the person in question being removed from the Flat Roos upon agreement by 2 or more officers (not necessarily 2 that were online at the time of the incident if it is reported) and the GM.
All removals will be done at a weekly officer meeting after consultation. Any member facing disciplinary action will be given the opportunity to explain their actions.
Reporting Breaches of Discipline
What to do as an ordinary member if you see or suspect a breach of the code of conduct? Take a screen shot if possible and report the nature of the offence including date time as detailed as possible. Reports should be made to a Bar Member of Raid Leader depending on the circumstances.
Breaches of Discipline should NOT be reported to the GM as a first point of contact. This allows the GM to remain impartial if a matter needs to be escalated.
Alternative Characters
Any alt character must be noted with “alt of (main character name)”. Any alts not noted as such will be removed as not complying with the code of conduct. By acknowledging with you main character you acknowledge the same behaviour when playing your alt
